St
Christopher’s is an orphanage run by an Anglican Order of nuns,
the Community of the Sacred Name.
The majority of the children at the Home are orphans and the other
children are there because they have been abused, neglected or abandoned by their families. The Sisters
are amazing women who dedicate their lives to caring for these children.
SERVICE
Our intention is to offer service to St Christopher’s in any
way possible while we are there. We will participate in the daily maintenance of the Home and we hope to extend friendship, love and kindness to the children. For ourselves, apart from this voluntary
service, we look forward to experiencing a different cultural environment,
gaining a better understanding of ourselves and learning to consider
the needs of others.
FUNDRAISING
At our various schools, we will be involved in fundraising activities to facilitate our involvement in service projects
at St Christopher’s. We will be taking linen, clothing, stationery,
medical supplies and fi nancial gifts to the Home.
We will also be creating a calendar displaying photographs of the
2007 Pilgrimage. Staff from our schools support the efforts of the students. Our target is to raise
$12,000 - all of which will be spent on projects at St Christopher’s
Home.

PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS
Christ Church Grammar School,
St Hilda's Anglican SChool for Girls,
Peter Moyes Anglican Community School.
We may never wish to trade our
lifestyle, community and particular
ways of believing for any other in the
world. That does not mean that we
will not be enriched by experiences
that take us beyond the comfort of
our own existence.

The Pilgrimage to St Christopher’s
Home will be an enriching experience. Our three schools have a common
commitment to love our neighbours, wherever they may be. By sharing
time, prayer and daily
activities, we will break down the barriers that divide our world
and, in the process, become bearers of the one Word and the one
Light. As one body we wish you well and assure you of our prayers.
